Black Folk Must Vote (BFMV) is a nonpartisan, grassroots organization that educates and empowers African Americans to register, vote, and make their voices heard. Since 2004, we’ve reached thousands of eligible voters through voter registration drives, GOTV events, Public Service Announcements, and direct action campaigns that amplify Black voices and the power of the Black voting bloc.   

We aim to shift cultural norms around voting and boost Black voters’ participation in elections by ensuring African American and Latino people have access to factual information about voting and registration and issues of importance in our communities. 

We believe that uniting Black voters around a clear, consistent message and using our collective power to create awareness and fight against voter suppression and discrimination represent the best opportunities for getting out the vote in Black communities and for shaping the future of our democracy.
